Viharna Sein Chinese Temple Near Pattaya

Featured Replies

post-2362-1257403599_thumb.jpgIf you want to escape from Pattaya for a few hours, I highly suggest the Viharna Sein Chinese temple/buddhist museum located about 15 kilometes south of Pattaya. Admission is B50 and its well worth the price. There are several other temples on the grounds and If you want to stretch your legs, try climbing the ~200 steps up to the Phra Mondop (rectangular roofed temple?) Great views of the countryside surrounding Pattaya from there.

Anyway, at Viharna Sein there were some "interesting" statues. Anyone know the significance ot the "finger" pose?

Yes, a wonderful day trip. We went there about a month ago and it was quite impressive.

Some of the clay figurines from the Emperor's Tomb looklike they were donated because no one wanted them but, a pleasant day !!

Tried to use the fast reply but wouldn't work.

Or maybe it did ?!

We discovered it by chance earlier this year and spent quite some time there . I would highly recomend it but it doesn't seem to appear in any of the Tourist brochures.
