Fees And Taxes For Land Title Upgrade

Recommended Posts

Maybe slightly out of date, but 4 years ago, and in Phuket, we paid 12,500 baht for 5 adjoining plots. 2,500 per plot. Can't recall that the price was dependant on size, but each plot was roughly 500 sq .m.

The measuring process took mostly a full day to do, and each adjoining land-owner was contacted. Some even turned up on the day to witness the 'measuring'.

Now, here's a little problem. In order to get our hands on the new chanote deeds within 1 month, we were asked to 'give them a helping hand'' as it were! Since we really didn't need the new deeds so quickly, we told them where to shove their little money-earner, and we'd wait.

The 5 chanotes took 18 months to be completed! I repeat that this timescale was no big deal to us, and we thought we'd gained a bit of a victory over corrupt practices.

So, unless there is a good reason for you to get chanotes quickly, then just let the matter take it's own course.
