My wife has just put in our application in Vietine in Laos as we found them to be very good with past tourist visas etc.We have been married for 5 years ,she has been here 2 times,I lived there for 4 years.We have a child who is nearly 3 who I have got Aussie cittizenship and also an Aussie passport.I think it is a pretty easy application to see that the relationship is the real deal.How long do you think it will take.Any past experiences would be good.

I would think if all the paper work etc is in order 6-8 weeks wouldn't be unreasonable - but then you can never tell.

We are just going through the same proccess at the Australian Embassy in Bangkok. It took three weeks after handing in the application before my wife had her interview appointment. There she has been told it will be another 4-6 weeks before the final decision is made. One week has past and we are still waiting . . .

Thanks for your info guys.It looks as if she wont get an answer before christmas.Can a visitors visa be granted while we wait for the spouse.Just thinking about christmas and holidays etc.

Yes she can get a tourist visa, however this usually will pause the other visa process for the time she is out of the country.
