Do You Hope For A Cooler Winter?

Featured Replies

Its been quite hot lately and I have been looking forward to some cooler weather. There were forecasts of cooler temperatures but it doesn't really seem to have materialised yet.

I don't want it too cold, I can go home to my country if I really wanted winter, but sometimes it is nice to have the cool temperatures. When do you think they will come?

I personally would like it as cold as possible. Nothing like those cool December mornings in Bangkok. I can't wait!

It got so cold in Chiang Mai last December I had to wear a jacket at night and occasionally had to wear long pants. I even had to put a blanket on my bed. :)

I have to disagree, I'm glad that it has gotten hot again this week. Last week was too cold and I was afraid that we were heading into winter already! As I said in a post from that week, I guess there isn't much Canadian blood left in me! :):D :D

The swimming pool I go to is amost always in the shade at this time of year and it is quite cold, however days are still hot as heck!

WINTER , surely you must be mistaken , there is no such thing in Thailand , oh yeah , the temperature will drop several degrees , but surely it cannot in all honesty be deamed as WINTER

Northern Thailand is like Autumn in the States and it feels GREAT.

Ah yes bring out the snow, tire chains, salt, shovels, ice scrapers blow torches, parkas mittens, thermal under ware and -50C blizzards. TURN THE HEAT UP!

Ughh, the beginning of your post is giving me nightmares! If I never see any of that again, I will be happy. People said "Oh, you will miss Canadian (read "real") winters!", but that can't be further from the truth!

Last week my wife(Thai) was complaining how cold it was in Thailand.

This week she is moaning how hot.

Good job we have a trip back to the UK next week to remind her how lucky she is here!

The wind should be coming from the North East now and it did for one week but it's now swung back to the South West which is it's summer direction, that is why it has got hot again.

I was there in January during the week or so when it was very cold by Thai standards. I stopped swimming in the swimming pool for the period as the water was freezing. :)

Ibet you were more than happy to go back to the hotel room and turn the heat up .

Yeah I know , another bloody one liner , sheezze , the nerve of this guy .

No

Winter? What's winter?

Oh, you must be referring to the cool, dry monsoon in SE Asia.

No, I'm hoping for (and expecting) more of the same, here at 7° N. latitude, which is typically a "frigid" ~23 °C for the lows...

Seeing all the parkas for sale in bangkok recently, I think, at least for Thai people, the term winter can apply :D

I like cooler weather to be honest. Its nice to be able to do stuff and not sweat all the time. Don't see much cool happening now tho :)

Having lived amongst such tropical climes all my life, I generally find any slight temp change to be a bit uncomfortable. The heat has never bothered me.......remembering 2 winters ago as China had one of it's coldest and longest winters and we received two short periods {January/December} of the arctic blasts that made their way down to these latitudes. 12-14 degrees during the day and absolutely fridgid {10 degrees} overnight.

The temperature never seems to change up here in Isaan.

It was cool last week for a few days.  Everyone was wearing heavy sweaters.a  Anything less than 32 seems to be sweater weather for everyone here, haha.

Yeah, let them eat their hearts out General.
