Xbox 360 Update

Featured Replies

Does anyone know how to get the new xbox 360 update. I went to buy the new modern warefare game and the guy gave me another disc that he said had the update but it has been running for over and hour now and it just stays on the xbox 360 logo screen. Any ideas?

Why don't you download the update from Xbox Live like everybody else?

Same problem ...but dont have broadband connection here any ideas.

You can try going to a wifi zone, or borrowing some broadband connection and download the update to your laptop. Burn it to a dvd then boot in your 360.

Gents, he isnt talking about the update from MS, hes talking about a firmware update to run the new wave 4 protected dvds you get from the local disk shops :)

I have recently bought an xbox 360 from the US. I was playing Modern Warfare 2 and Gears of War online in the US. Everything was updated. I got back to Thailand and I was still able to play Modern Warfare 2 online. I noticed my lag was pretty bad (1 bar) but still playable. I figured the xbox was still connecting to US based games. I tried to change the country and create a new gamertag in a nearby country since Thailand isn't an option. I load up MW2 again and it asks for a game update. I say yes and it disconnects me from xbox live and tries to update but it fails. This also happens when I stick in Gears of War. Single player is fine but I really enjoy playing online. I've read about issues where people buy their xbox in one country and after they move, they have problems with their gamertags due to the billing information. My xbox is unmodified and all my games are originals. My xbox is connected to the router by Ethernet cable and is set as the DMZ. I can log onto xbox live. I only get disconnected from it when the game wants to update. Is it a region problem due to my Thai IP address? Has anyone experienced this problem and were you able to resolve it?
