Guys, some of you must have recently upgraded your laptop memory. I’m looking for two one Gig sticks of 200 Pin SODIMM DDR2 PC2-5300 CL5 (667)..laptop memory. I ordered a GB stick for my laptop priced at 663 baht. The dealer got back with me and said the price had just gone up to 1,363 baht. Why? I have no idea.

The accepted answer seems to be that the manufacturers are focusing on DDR3, and so production of DDR2 has slowed right down.

Seem to remember the same thing (rapid price increase) occurred with DDR400 when DDR2 starting becoming popular.
