Holiday In Krabi

Hi,looking for advice. Planning to visit krabi. Heard that we can get a feri from phuket to krabi, is that true? what will be the cost? how long it will take? Basically planning for a low budgget holiday which pay cheap,eat cheap,stay cheap and travel cheap.

Well, I don't know about a ferry directly from Phuket to Krabi - I imagine there IS one, but I just don't have the details. But, I do know that there are ferries from Phuket to Phi Phi, and from Phi Phi to Krabi. If you are planning on visiting the Phi Phi Islands on your trip, why don't you consider making a stopover on your way from Phuket to Krabi? You could stay for just one day if you're pressed for time.

Krabi to Phuket ferries

Ferry: Ao Nang - Phuket 15.00 (daily)

Ferry: Phuket - Ao Nang 8.00 (daily)

Journey time is approx. 3 hours and ticket price 550 Baht/person (one way). Boats depart from Nopparat Thara Pier, 5 minutes' drive from Ao Nang - a free shuttle bus is provided. Boats from Phuket depart from Phuket Pier in Ao Makham.

Since you're on a tight budget, don't plan on spending the night on Koh Phi Phi, it's quite expensive.

The bus from Phuket to Krabi would surely be cheaper than the ferry, for what it's worth, and note that there's a new YHA/HI hostel just opened outside Krabi, I think it's somewhere near the 'Shell Beach' (ie not Ao Nang), but there are certainly fairly-cheap guesthouses (away from the beach) in Ao Nang.

I think you mean in Krabi town, not Ao Nang. But, otherwise, I am in agreement with your recommendation.
