Clove, Nutmeg And Corriander In Pattaya

Featured Replies

I need Clove, nutmeg and corriander powder and have absolutely no idea where to get it here in Pattaya.

Who's gonna save me before the 5th of december :)

Try the nearest Makro, they have an excellent selection of whole and ground spices.

Almost certain at Foodland

Large wholesale outlet but the one in Pattaya (on Sukhumvit between Underwater World and Tesco) is not open yet. Foodland certainly had cloves as of two weeks ago.

Friendship on Pattaya Thai also have a good selection of herbs and spices - dried not fresh, but they suffice.

Foodland had all of it! Whole (alot cheaper) as well as grounded :)

Kinda strange Carrefour lacks this little department...

Thanx!

Clove and nutmeg - available at the western style supermarkets: Central, Villa, Foodland etc. Whole or ground, both are available.

Coriander - available fresh from local markets (in section where they selll veg or basil/lemongrass etc) but I have seen them in supermarkets too. It's called pak chi in Thai (i think) or just point to it!

Dried coriander powder or seeds is an entirely different ingredient than fresh coriander.

Fresh "coriander," or CILANTRO, is available at every Thai local market as well as every supermarket in Pattaya; it's used that much in Thai cooking! The other, dried spices are also available at all the Pattaya supermarkets. I buy that stuff at Foodmart, Jomtien. Have noticed, too, that Central's basement supermarket on 2nd road has a pretty darn good spices section. Good luck!

I just bought a bag of whole cloves at Foodland for 20 baht. They have coriander and coriander seeds too. They have nutmeg too, but it's cheaper at other stores, unless you buy the whole nutmegs.
