December 2, 200916 yr For the last few years I have been getting yearly extentions based on work, but I quit work a few months back and just got a three month non O in Laos. This non O will finish in a few weeks. I wil be going back to my home country for a holiday a month after this so I can get another multiple entry non o there. In the meantime will I be able to get a visa on arrival at the border? Are these only 15 days now? Will I be able to do this twice? I need an extra month. I was planning on going to Mae Sot as this is the nearest border to me. Regards Joe Edited December 2, 200916 yr by joequinn
December 2, 200916 yr You will get 15 days for crossing by land and 30 days for crossing by air. There shouldn't be a problem doing two land crossings.
December 2, 200916 yr You can also extend your 15 day 'border' visa at your local immigration office for another 30 days for a payment of 1,900bht
December 2, 200916 yr You can also extend your 15 day 'border' visa at your local immigration office for another 30 days for a payment of 1,900bht Really? That's interesting. Its the first time I have heard that. Hmmmm.
December 2, 200916 yr You can also extend your 15 day 'border' visa at your local immigration office for another 30 days for a payment of 1,900bht No you cannot. 7 days at the most providing you have an air ticket leaving Thailand within those 7 days. The OP will not have a Visa anyway. He will have a Visa Exempt Entry.
December 2, 200916 yr You can also extend your 15 day 'border' visa at your local immigration office for another 30 days for a payment of 1,900bht Grossly inaccurate visa advice is very much frowned on here. Please refrain from giving any advice at all on that topic.
December 2, 200916 yr Author Thank you fellas. I am sure you meant well pjclark1. I don't think that I could face any more looks of incomprehension from Thai officials so I won't even try that one. It is bad enough getting them to acknowledge those regulations that do exist. Regards Joe

December 2, 200916 yr To mildly play the devil's advocate here, one possible advantage of people posting incorrect information is that it invites people who know better to firmly refute that publicly. For all we know, there are many people who believe the same about 30 day extensions, and those people reading this would have learned something important. In other words, the gross errors are sometimes a so called teaching opportunity. That said, unless one is very confident of their information, it would be safer to say something like, I heard this is true, is it true? Edited December 2, 200916 yr by Jingthing

His contributions on visa matters on ThaiVisa are unwelcome here. Oh PLEASE only about half the people on here really know what they are talking about anyway. Lopburi3, Litebeer, Thaipoon, Maestro and Mario2008 are the most informed on visa matters (if I forgot anyone that CONSISTANTLY gives correct visa information my apologies for not mentioning your name), the rest just speculate and guess. I don't think any member should be telling anyone else that their post are not welcomed. Perhaps he misread the OP's post. Because there is a lot of misinformation on this forum surely you remember telling another member he is on "CRIMINAL OVERSTAY". Edited December 7, 200916 yr by ThaiRich
