I have been informed that Chang Mai bike week starts on the 4th Dec through to the 9th Dec. I beleive that most of the hotels are booking out fast as there will be thousands of bikes there. Can any one confirm the dates and the info re the hotels.

There was a "bike week" in Phitsanulok on the 4th and 5th. At the hotel, I met one fellow with a really nice Duccati who said he was coming up to CNX for the festivities here. So for people that are really interested, expect more than just Harleys.

Thinking about going to check it out today. Just wondering where it is. Any ideas?

Cheers,

Guano

It's on the canal road. Turn left off Suthep road (if u are heading towards CMU). It's about a km along the canal road on the left hand side. You can't miss it!

It is good to see so many nice bikes around, and no doubt good for the hotels etc. Wonder if the BIB will setup check points to examine documents, hand out fines and try to confiscate some bikes just to keep in the spirit of things and make it more memorable?

Actually the BIB were a big part of the program, The Special Branch

from Bangkok ( These folks are the security for the Royals) also the Tourist , Highway and Metro Police had exhibits of their bikes on display. They also provided police escort for the 100+ bikes on the ride to the hill tribe village in Mae Rim. Non stop ride ( no red lights

for us) to the village where the organizers of CMBW built a school last year. This year donated 30,000 BT to the village plus 100 blankets and other gifts. The Hmong folks were very grateful and the children put on a song and dance for us. It was a very special day for all of us including the BIB. :)
