I called the head office. They said they only offer to thais. Maybe they make annoucement in June this year but unsure. Do you have a travel card with any other bank in Thailand. I think they are really useful to load on any currency you want. Any other options for us oldies living in Thailand. Any other type of card that one can use for travelling abroad? thanks -

Thailand's AI Robocop Debuts at Songkran Water Festival
Pictures courtesy of The Nation Thailand has unveiled its latest innovation in law enforcement: AI Police Cyborg 1.0, making its grand debut at the lively Songkran water festival on Tonson Road in Nakhon Pathom. The futuristic robot, an artificial intelligence-powered police figure, left both locals and tourists in awe as it carried out its security duties during one of Thailand's most spirited events. This advanced cyborg, affectionately called Pol Col Nakhonpathom Plod Phai—meaning "Nakhon Pathom is safe"—is the product of a pioneering collaboration between Provincial Police Region 7, Nakhon Pathom Provincial Police, and the local municipality. Its introduction marks a significant leap into a tech-driven era of public safety. Equipped with 360-degree AI-powered cameras, AI Police Cyborg 1.0 is built to enhance security during large gatherings. The robot excels in real-time surveillance, possessing the ability to identify threats accurately. Key features include: Facial Recognition & Blacklist Alerts: Instantly identifies individuals on watchlists, notifying human officers for prompt action. Suspect Tracking: Utilises facial and behavioural data to follow suspects throughout the festival. Advanced Search Tools: Finds individuals based on specific facial features and other traits. Weapon Detection: Can recognise actual weapons, distinguishing them from harmless festival items like water guns. Behaviour Monitoring: Keeps an eye out for signs of violence or physical aggression. All gathered data is sent live to the Command and Control Centre in Nakhon Pathom, allowing human officers to coordinate effectively based on the robot's findings. Moreover, the AI Police Cyborg integrates drone and CCTV footage, creating a comprehensive security network. The presence of this high-tech guardian added an intriguing twist to the water-soaked revelry, with festival-goers responding with a mix of amusement and appreciation. Many praised it as a forward-thinking measure that enhances safety without diminishing the fun. AI Police Cyborg 1.0, with its sci-fi appearance and cutting-edge capabilities, is set to redefine the future of law enforcement in Thailand, especially in managing large public gatherings like Songkran. As Thailand embraces such innovations, the blend of tradition and technology becomes an exciting spectacle for both security and spectators, reported The Thaiger. -- 2025-04-17
