Non-im Visa O Extension And Also Advice On Going To Cambodia For Visa Run On My Own

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

I have a non immigrant O visa for 1 year (multiple entry). My 3 months is up on 6th dec and im going back to UK on 15th so annoying that I have to leave the country just for about 9 days to make sure I don't overstay. Does anyone know if I can go down to immigration office and get a extension or do I have to leave for sure after one of my 3 months stints is up?

Also if I go to Cambodia an drive myself (don't want to do a bus tour), is it possible just to walk across from the thai side and get the visa on arrival in cambodia and walk back on my own ( I know I will have to ignore all the Cambodian's trying to tell me I need to pay some VIP crap)

Help would be much appreciated..

Thanks :)

You will only be able to obtain a 7 day extension from immigration, and that will probably require sight of air ticket out of the country within that period.

Border run is the only way to stay legally and avoid overstay. After clearing Thai immigration at the border you must enter Cambodia (get stamped in) and then then exit (get stamped out) before re-entering Thailand. Failure to do so will lead to you being detained at the Thai border on re-entry.
