I am using 16Mbps with True in Chiang Mai. I don't know if its any better in Bangkok but domestically it reaches 16Mbps only at night. During the day its 13Mbps. International bandwidth is okay at 8-12Mbps but the ping is quite bad.

AAG is active only for CAT customers. True isn't purchasing any more bandwidth from CAT at the moment so AAG will not make any difference to True customers.

Wow...13MBps during the day! That's durn good speedwise. But like you mentioned, with the ping being quite bad that's going to have a big impact on consistent/smooth high speed flow. How do YouTube video's flow...is a bad ping causing stop and go playback...I expect you get lot of pauses/loading more data during the playback?

I am on True 8 Mbs connection. The only problem I have is the few outrage of internet service other than that all is good. I can see youtube videos without having to pause it every time and even HD videos are streamed without any trouble. While using torrent I get 700-800 Kbps which is not bad .

Well, I'm jealous of your good video streaming speed. Generally, it seems True internet subscribers get much better speed than TOT-based or TOT concessionaire subscribers due to TOT's overall infrastructure. But since I live in a area that that is serviced by TOT phone lines I will be limited to TOT or one of their concessionaires for internet, unless I want to switch to satellite which would be dumber than dirt. When will TOT catch-up? Answer is: After this state agency is turned into a public/private company like True, AIS, DTAC, etc.

I am using 16 mbps permium package in office and it is working nicely for me.

please define "nicely" :)

I have downloaded couple of Distors / Hypervisor at different occasions like CentOS 5.4, FreeBSD , Hyper-V R2 and the speed was quite good i.e above 10 mbps most of the time.

We are running Linux Mail server and the user in office basically use it for sending Emails with large attachments. We don't use streaming video / audio as such can not comment.

We are using our own CPE and not the one provided by TURE :D

have the 12 mbps package:

streaming TV from Austria: No way.....10 seconds 20 seconds buffering 10 seconds watching.

But downloads often with 300-500 K

Bittorrent often with 1.2 M

Fazit: not what they promise but the best I have seen in Thailand.
