Hi,

I use VISTA Ultimate to contact a site called JOG & JOY, my Wife is into Marathon & Mini Marathon running and you have the option to see the site in Thai or English. The Thai language pages are ok, no problems but when I switch over to the English pages this is was I get. I have tried contacting the web team at JOG & JOY but all I have received so far are entry forms for various races.

Change the character encoding in your internet browser.

If using FF, its View/Character Encoding/

Switch the character encoding in your browser to one of these...

Internet Explorer:

  • Unicode (UTF-8)
  • Western European (ISO)
  • Western European (Windows)

Other browsers:

  • Unicode (UTF-8)
  • Western (ISO-8859-1)
  • Western (Windows-1252)

Hi there,

Well thank you for your replies & suggestions, I thought it was something simple but unfortunately none of them work.

I tried all the various encoding options and Auto Select but this is was I get when I specify UTF-8 in Internet Explorer. Some of the options like Chinese & Korean seemed to change the code into the respective languages but no luck with English. My main browser is Google Chrome, same results there also, any more suggestions

^ ^ This the site you're having trouble with? I have no issues browsing the site using both IE7 and Firefox. Didn't even have to change character encoding while switching between Thai/English.

Check your Regional and Language settings in the Control Panel.

I believe the problem lies in there...

Chrome has real problems with language encoding sometimes - even if Google keep ignoring it or saying that its the same on alkl browsers - which it isn't. Try IE or FF as a backup browser (a lot of sites draw really badly on Chrome too - sometimes loosing part of the right hand side of text in floating divs etc).

Hi Supernova,

That's the site and when I access the 2009 sections in Thai or English it's ok, it's when I try to access the 2010 calender in English I get the problem now, so maybe site related?

Thank's for the reply any way.

Hi Wolf5370,

Thanks for the reply, I did like the look of chrome when it was launched but there are problems, I can't access my Bangkok Bank on line account with it for starters and I lose the right hand side of the text as well. My main problem with Jog & Joy is 2010 fixtures which I cannot access, 2009 is ok so may be site related. No joy from the people over there though.

Thanks for the reply.

Peter

Its mostly a problem with the site . Check this if it works Jog&Joy

Hi Shriah,

That works ok, thanks a lot we can now start to look at where we will be visiting next year. The Wife does the running, I'm responsible for the training and transport arrangements.

Enjoy the holiday season and thanks for the help.
