Rimmer
A German national has been found dead in his hotel room in North Pattaya. The cause of death is as yet unknown however; police believe that the man may have suffered a heart attack. Pattaya, the 26th of December 2009 [PDN]: At approximately 6:00pm, police Lieutenant Colonel Smet Harnwisai (Pattaya police Investigator) was notified that a foreign man had been found dead in room 195, Pattaya Garden Resort, Naklua. A team of police and medical staff from the Sawang Boriboon Foundation went to the scene to investigate. Arriving at the scene, police discovered the body of Mr. Heinz Frinrich Werthner [46] lying dead on the bed in a pair of black underwear. The medical team managed to assertain that he had been dead for approximately 16 hours. In the room there appeared to be no evidence of a struggle or robbery and the room looked to be almost empty. Officers found one packet of green Viagra, one whisky bottle and an assortment of other alcoholic drinks. All the evidence was collected and photographs taken before the police ordered the Sawang Boriboon Foundation to take the body away for autopsy. A maid of the hotel had been doing her rounds when she discovered that Mr. Werthner’s door was unlocked, she proceeded to knock and after no reply entered the room, to find the motionless body on the bed. She then contacted police immediately. As yet the cause of death is unknown however; police believe that he may have suffered from a heart attack, or simply died because of his evident alcoholism. pattayadailynews.com 27 Dec 2009
Basil B
Sorry for the victim. But why do the local gutter press have to write in such graphical detail the description of the victims underwear and medication.
whichschool
Sorry for the victim. But why do the local gutter press have to write in such graphical detail the description of the victims underwear and medication. And how does having a whisky bottle make someone "evidently an alcoholic." Im sure the people who write this are non too bright drop out farangs trying to come across as intelligent but failing gallantly. I never knew alcohol gave people heart attacks (if that was the cause of death), the same cant be said for Viagra.

"Im sure the people who write this are non too bright drop out farangs trying to come across as intelligent but failing gallantly." Maybe this behavior can be attributed to a certain attitude problem, certain people do have with the presence of this dreaded type of "Ferenghi" Specie! All to often someone is reported in LoS and found dying the "happy Viagra & Saeng Som boot out"... wonder there isn't a close up publicized as well! Jingthing
FYI Are there cardiovascular risks associated with drinking alcohol?Drinking too much alcohol can raise the levels of some fats in the blood (triglycerides) (tri-GLIS'er-idz). It can also lead to high blood pressure, heart failure and an increased calorie intake. (Consuming too many calories can lead to obesity and a higher risk of developing diabetes.) Excessive drinking and binge drinking can lead to stroke. Other serious problems include fetal alcohol syndrome, cardiomyopathy (kar"de-o-mi-OP'ah-the), cardiac arrhythmia (ah-RITH'me-ah) and sudden cardiac death. http://www.americanheart.org/presenter.jhtml?identifier=4422

On the other hand, if the guy needed viagra on the age of 46, there might be another cause for his death.
