You come to Ranong, Thailand. While in Ranong you should arrive at Immigration which is about 3km out of town towards Sanaplaa. At the Immigration you will get exit stamp and a small piece of paper attached to your passport. Afterwards continue driving on on the same road 500m towards the pier.

At the pier you pay 30-50 baht for a boat one way, depending on your baragaining skills. It takes about 15 minutes for the boat to reach Thailand checkpoint on some small island. You or the boat "captain" will show your passport with exit stamp to the officials. They will put another exit stamp on the small piece of paper which is inside your passport.

The boat will continue it's way (about 25min) to the Burma Immigration. Within 2 minutes and for a payment of 5$ they will issue 3 days "visa" stamp.
