60days First 30 On The Cheap But Where ?

Featured Replies

First of all the topic sucks i know but couldnt come up with a better one, blame my english skills :)

Going to thailand for the 4th time (first trip alone) in early feb this year for 2-3 months and im thinking it would be nice to

stay a bit longer in a city or a beach someplace a bit cheaper then the more expensive areas ie phuket, samui etc.

Looking for cheap food/beer/hotel/serviced appartement, some bars in an area where my cash will last a bit longer so i dont end up going home

broke after 3 weeks = )

Love spending days wandering looking around eating good food and drinking beer :D reading a book in the sun,

not to fussy about sights etc but some nightlife would be nice.

My budget will be around 2.000-2500 usd a month but im a bit fussy about accomodation and that usually sets me back a fair bit.

Any recomendations on where to go ? Chiang mai ? Koh chang, mak ? Oh im 28 btw.

Stay at home which I presume is Europe someplace :)

Chiang Mai is plenty cheap , I imagine you could have a pretty good time for $1500 month. serviced apt $150 , motor bike about $50, good food $1 to $5 meals

Samui or Krabi can both be done on the cheap.

Lots to do - visit the islands, diving etc and nightlife.

A month or more on Koh Chang would bore me to tears.

If you're fussy about somewhere to stay this website is brilliant for cheap accommodation at numerous Thai towns

Chiang mai would be your best bet for cheap and plenty to do but better still why not look at visiting laos or vietnam or cambodia everything in these places is cheaper and you normally get alot more for your money. Its not like you havn´t got the time.
