UK Embassy wants an 'official translation from a translation bureau'.

Anyone know what this means? Is this just a normal old Ploenchit Road Translation shop or something more elaborate.

Still haven't figured out whether 'Registration' is necessary or whether we can go straight for the baby UK passport.

Registration isn't necessary to get the passport. (I know - because my youngest was born here, we didn't go for the registration, but she still got issued with her passport.)

And yes, any regular translation bureau will do. (i.e. If they're good enough for wedding documents, they're good enough for birth certificates).

Just remember to confirm the English spelling of names on the translation - since that's what the passport will use.
