July 16, 20251 yr I have had my new desktop for a few months now and happy with it, but a sign has appeared at the right hand bottom of my screen saying "Activate Windows". Go to settings to activate windows. I did that and there is a long story in red writing which starts "Cannot activate windows because --------------- The computer is working well and doing everything I want, so do I really need to bother about this? Thanks.
July 17, 20251 yr I bought once online from Lazada a low priced no-name laptop with Win 10 preinstalled and fully working. No need for me to perform any installation and activation. Worked fine for a couple months and then Win 10 opened with request to activate. Would not work anymore, Turns out the pre-installed Win 10 was a limited time factory install. I binned the thing. And bought a brand-name new one. With Win 10 pre-loaded and ready for me to install and activate.
