My thoughts exactly, but yours more cleanly expressed! Re the question - try asking in Makro or in the hardware warehouses on Sukhumvit Road. Failing that, a cruise down Thapprasit Road where they have a lot of welding/metal bashing places may also help if only to point you in a better direction.
