Sour Cream

Featured Replies

Does anyone know where i can buy (or get the ingredients to make) sour cream? Made fajitas last night but wasnt the same without the sour cream.

Tescos, Big C and Villa all stock it in Bangkok.

Everywhere. I can't think of a supermarket that doesn't stock it. Where have you been looking, Homepro?

It can be tough to spot, the Foremost brand is the one i see most and it's in an all blue yogurt style container - 35 baht or so. There are imported varieties available as well but at a steep premium.

Go to a supermarket .... you will see they sell all different types of food including sour cream.

You cannot get it from Homepro or the Toyota service centre on Sukhumvit.

May be better to post where they sell reading glasses.

Although Big C, Lotus, and others may "stock" it, I have found that it is something that is, quite often, out-of-stock.

The foremost brand is ok but tastes like yoghurt to me. If you want a more genuine taste go for the imported brands (a bit pricey at 130b plus but very good).

Bulla is best at Villa

If you leave some cream out overnight add to it lemon juice and cottage cheese any spice to taste.voila....sour cream!

Everywhere.

Add also a little bit pla raah, but only a little. It makes your sour cream real tasty.

its comments like these that stop people from posting on this site. ask an honest question and you get flammed for being an idiot!

I saw it in Foodland (Thonburi) so I'll assume it's available in all of them. Also many varieties of yoghurt, and without added sugar!

Try Makro! I buy it at Makro Nakhon Sawan!

Old world, new world. Same same.

Got a suggestion for you though. When you're sitting there in your Ben 10 slippers and Dr. Who dressing gown, eating your (sour cream-less) tacos, thinking that there is a vital ingredient missing from your Mexican cuisine, it might be a good idea to get out of your apartment and have a look around Bangkok before pumping out inane queries on TV, to an already tired brethren, fed up with answering questions from people that are too bone idle to get up and look for themselves. Fairdinkum mate, am I being harsh? Maybe. Think logically. If every pub/restaurant/cafe in Thailand is serving Mexican food then they must be getting their sour cream somewhere.

Tesco Lotus, all stores sell it, it's located in the cheese section. Any of the Macros also stock it.

good lord people. ask a simple question and get alot of nastiness to boot.

Seeing as how the OP has his answer and a bit more
