January 24, 201016 yr Author Thank you, I was thinking it was a keelback type because we have a lot of keelbacks here. But I never saw this kind before.
January 24, 201016 yr I love these threads. Reminds me we're all potentially moments from a venomous death in this country. Makes a little paranoid and gets me checking around my feet whilst typing.

I like them too, and love snakes. To the OP can you describe where you saw this snake? In a village, a town, your garden? Thanks.
January 24, 201016 yr Author Well I live in a Moo Bahn just on the edge of Chiang Mai and just behind the house there is an overgrown area with a couple of ponds. Usually I see keelbacks out there when I try a little fishing. But this guy was right in the yard checking us out.

I mean whilst I'm riding it, I don't actually pick the scooter up and bash them with it.
January 24, 201016 yr I like snakes of all types and have hundreds of photos of them. I've gone on a few snake collecting expeditions. At first I thought your snake was a green tree snake, but they are more slender. The photo that brianinbankok supplied identifies it perfectly. What lovely markings it has around the head.

January 24, 201016 yr About 10 years ago on a Thai television news channel I saw live video of some guy wrapped up by a BIG python. It seems he was riding towards Bangkok from Pattaya and he hit the python with his motor bike. In the video the motorbike was still on its side, running with the wheels spinning, and about 4 people were trying to unwind the live python off the unforunate guy. It was pretty dramatic tv.
