THAI VISA REGULATIONS FOR NIGERIAN NATIONALS

1.Since 15 November 1996, the Royal Thai Embassy in London has been responsible for consular and visa work for Nigerian nationals travelling to Thailand, which was previously under the responsibility of the Royal Thai Embassy in Lagos. Such tasks of the Royal Thai Embassy in London are only on a temporary basis until the Honorary Consul of Thailand in Nigeria is appointed.

2.When applying for a Thai visa, a Nigerian national has to follow Thai visa regulations accordingly:

2.1 For a Nigerian whose permanent residence is Nigeria or in countries where no Thai Embassy/Consulate is situated, application has to be made for a visa only at the Royal Thai Embassy in London with the requirement to present a Certificate of Clearance from the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency of Nigeria. This is to comply with the request of the Nigerian authority for prevention of drug-trafficking by Nigerians entering Thailand;

2.2 For a Nigerian whose permanent residence is in foreign countries where a Thai Embassy/Consulate is situated, one can apply for a visa at the Thai Embassy/Consulate

in that country with no requirement of a Certificate of Clearance from the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency of Nigeria;

2.3 For a Nigerian student studying in a country where a Thai Embassy/Consulate is situated, one can apply for a visa if the following conditions are met;

• residing in the country where one studies without leaving it for a certain period of one year at the minimum;

• holding a re-entry visa to that country;

• wishing to travel to Thailand for educational purposes only.

2.4 For a Nigerian holding a diplomatic or official passport, on may apply for a visa at any Thai Embassy/Consulate in any country of one’s convenience.

I've 'heard' Nigerians can do it through China as well? Or possibly Hong Kong? Or at least I've met a few here that didn't need to go through London.

Good luck mate but you're going to struggle IMO!
