Six years ago I bought a Ford Ranger, and as there was not Ford dealer at that moment in Pattaya I bought it at the Ford dealer in Chonburi. The sale and delivery was no problem at all and the car was OK.

That was until after 11 months the central-locking from the right door was not working anymore. And as central-locking was a third-party option (but sold & delivered to me by de Ford dealer) it had only 3 months warranty and they refused to repair it for free. Very bad service of Ford Chonburi! After some discussion they finally did agreed to repair it for free. It was actually an easy job of less as 30min.

With in a few months after this (car just 14months old) the battery went flat. “O Sir that is normal” (and is not covered by warranty). Very bad material from Ford factory! So I bought a new battery at the Ford dealer, this battery again went flat after 1 year. Very bad sales by Ford dealer Pattaya. Then I bought a battery (the third battery!!) at a third-party shop and this battery is still working now after 6 years.

Just in that same time the extra remote-control of the central-locking broke just as the first one had done after 8 months. But again as this was an option there was no warranty anymore and I had to buy an all new central-locking system to get met remote-control replaced. Very bad service of Ford Chonburi! The remote-control I bought new at Boy & Sound is still working.

In the meanwhile also the electric motor of my right-door window had gone dead and had to be replaced. As the car was not yet 3 years old this was done under warranty, but the Ford dealer did not have this in stock and I had to wait 1 week and come back again. Bad service of Ford Pattaya! Just after 3 years the left-door electric motor also died and had to be replaced and I had to pay for it. And again I had to wait and come back for it. Again bad service of Ford Pattaya!

I do no know it anymore when but in the next coming 3 years there have been many repairs of which I had to notice and tell to the dealer. It was never noticed while the service checks were done at any of the Ford dealers in Pattaya, Chonburi or Rayong. The wheel bearing of all wheels are replaced, the montage rubbers of the engine & gearbox have been replaces, the bearings of the gearbox have been replaced, the o-rings of the gearbox have been replaced, the front disk-brakes and the rear brake-drums had to cleaned & buffed. And because a construction failure there are coming small gravel stones in an area where also the mechanism of the window wipers is. As a result of this twice this mechanism was broken and had to be repaired. Not difficult but a lot of work.

Then when I crashed my left rear lens the dealer (Ford Pattaya) had to order it. So I did not order it and when I passed another Ford dealer in BKK I had the lens replaced within 10min. Very bad service of Ford Pattaya!

The limit was reached when I was driving to the Rayong and my radiator blew up while driving! Luckily it was on route 36 and the Ford dealer was only 20km away. The radiator had to be replaced and “This is normal after 100.000km” according to the dealer! Well not in my book! And if this is normal then why do you not tell me? “Because people do not want to change something that is still working”. Hahaha why should one do service check at a dealer like that! Bad service from Ford dealer Rayong! The problem of the blown of radiator was so quickly found that I think that it actually a manufactory failure but the term “re-call” is unknown to Ford Thailand!

In the end I had this Ford Ranger for 6 years and drove 160.000km with it (which I think is not really much) and maintenance & repairs did cost met about 90.000 Thai baht. In compare to the new price of the car I think that is expensive.

Further of all I can only say that I had very bad and unfriendly service from the Ford dealer of Pattaya and Chonburi (both the same company). And although the staff was friendly at the Ford dealer at Rayong their service was still very bad!

The quality of the product and the service of the Ford dealers make me never to buy a Ford in Thailand anymore.

I would guess that Ford would be very happy is your next vehicle is anything BUT a Ford.

I had toyota before and mistake from factory nearly cause fatal crash! I had 2 Mercedes Benz, bought new and one of them was in servise every month becuase it was new model...

I feel that your problem is with dealer, I bought Ford in Thailand and my dealer is perfect, when I crashed something (they dont have part on stock also) but they send me to insurance company, few days ago guy from dealership go with me to city to translate some articles from magazine since I want to do some upgrades... He also bring melone to my home as present...

Btw. battery is witout garanty in all cars in the world -max 12mnts,
