Money Transfer

Featured Replies

I want to send money back to Australia but seem to be having problems with the banks here, they all say that I cannot transfer money from Thailand to Australia?

Can anyone please direct me to a bank that can do this for me?

Have you tried Western Union they should transfer money worldwide.

If you want to use a Thai Bank you need an Invoice for the amount.

1) Invoice (In English will save a lot of time)

2) Passport / Id-Card

3) Address of the Bank to Transfer to

4) Address of the Beneficiary (as on the Invoice)

5) IBAN number of his account

Show them your work permit and they'll transfer the money.

Or if it's the proceeds from the sale of your condo show them the blue slip from the land department.

3 and 4 can be pretty incomplete no problem.

5) Many countries use Swift+account number others IBAN.

Invoice on your name is important. If you don't have one make one.

Regarding my post, I eventually found a bank (KASIKORNBANK) who were more than happy to help me.

The form was very easy to fill in, just had to hand over my passport and the money that I wanted to transfer, no questions asked.

The very helpful Branch Manager explained to me that every bank worldwide now have in place Anti-Money Laundering policies and procedures and anything over $10,000.00USD needs to have a substantial amount of documents presented to prove that the money was obtained legally.

I only had 100,000.00 THB that I wanted to send and had no issues, I hope this helps anyone else that needs to send money back home.
