I need some help on an overstay visa my friend has an overstay of 1 year and doesn't know what to do to fix it. I read on Thai visa that the max fine is 20,000 but people he has talk to said he will also get a fine anywhere from an additional 20,000 or more does anyone know anything about such a huge overstay? Is he looking at blacklisting or worst jail or can he go to a check point and pay a fine? If he could just pay the 20 where is the safest place with the least amount of problems for such a huge overstay? Any and all help is very much welcome.

20,000 at the Airport would be the safest, i have seen people at the airport with a 3 1/2 year overstay, 20,000 no problem, just dont get caught for anything before getting there.

Good luck

I agree Begs...absolutely. Pay the money and go for a little flight. All will be forgiven. But if the Immigration people tumble him beforehand, then he has a problem. Locked up, deported, and banned for life are the usual outcomes. Perhaps he should get a visa while out of Thailand too.
