Exchanging Euro Money To Thai Baht

Featured Replies

Is it a possible to exhange EURO cash money in Thailand to Thai Baht? Is it a common practice? I know one can easily do this if you bring US dollars but I'd prefer to take some Euro Cash money instead considering I come from a Euro-zone country. And if this is possible, from where you can exchange the Euro money to Thai Baht?from certain banks only or you can say every bank can do this? Obviously, my primary source for Thai Baht will not be foriegn money as cash but rather withdrawals by means of credit cards from ATMs. Finally, do you have any tips in general for withdrawing money from ATMs as regards safety and getting the best rate possible? Is there any bank which has the best rates? and do you consider exchanging money at the airport either through the counters or via the ATMS as being competitive as regards rates? thanks :)

Euro notes can be exchanged with the greatest of ease everywhere.

Come on people, why post such a question.

Can I change Thai Baht in Germany or France, yes I can, please think before posting.

And ask your bank if they have any deals with Banks in Thailand. Some might.

Welcome to Thailand 'borgy',

Is it a possible to exchange EURO cash money in Thailand to Thai Baht

Yes.

Foreign Exchange Rates

1st Tip do Not use credit cards to make withdrawals You will be charged interest from the day you take the money.

Debit Cards linked to your bank account OK As far as Thai bank charges are concerned Lots and lots of Info on here.

Pink Banks. Yellow Banks Ect Ect

Would that be at the Tourist Banking Rates? :D or as here in Thailand, International Banking Rates? :)

Traveller Cheques are safer by far and you get a better Rate as well :D

There is no way to avoid the 150 baht ATM fee if you plan to use an ATM. You can go into a bank with your card and passport if you wish to avoid the fee.

Preload your card with your own funds to avoid cash advance fees from your bank.

For the best rates only change your British pounds when you arrive in Thailand. No one bank will consistently give the best rates but this website will let you know the rates to expect:

To make the most of each ATM transaction withdraw the maximum amount allowed. This will depend on your own bank's limit and will usually be limited to 20,000 baht by the Thai bank.

Make sure you tell your credit card provider the dates you are travelling to Thailand so that you won't get a nasty surprise by them stopping your card.

I have to agree with this.

The question is either unbelievably naive or is just being asked for the sake of asking a question.

The Euro is one of the world's major currencies and, as such, will be accepted world-wide.

yes --that is a good site to compare rates -----i have found that you get better rates outside the airport -also there is a 30baht charge for each T/T no matter what value --- so bigger the better unless you prefer to change smaller ones and carry less -if you will not have access to a hotels saftey box------

see you there on the 9th :)

rest assured that if I knew the answer I wouldn t have posted the question...I have better things to do....you have to realise that being at the other side of the world is not always as home - so why not ask a simple question and be sure of certain things before you leave! At the end of the day some of the replies posted on this topic have been fruitful not only to me but I'm sure even to other people...whilst thanking all those who have posted these 'helpful' replies, thanks anyway for your reply.
