Anyone Else At Emporium Suites?

Does anyone else here stay at Emporium Suites?

I have been here for several months, and all was fine.

However since last month there is a loud vibrating noise, like from an air conditioner machine, vibrating in the floors of the whole floor, and top floors. It is a vibrating-humming noise, that can both be heard and felt through the floors. It goes on all day, but even louder at night, when it seems like more machines turn on.

It is not from the in-room air conditioner, as this has been running and it is completely silent. It is also not due to construction or noise outside, as it is coming from the building itself. So it must be coming from some central area in the building.

I have stayed at another quiet hotel by the river in the meantime while keeping the suites here, but when come back the noise persists in this building.

The 'engineers' and duty manager did not find a problem, and apparently they could not hear it because they are not sensitive to it. I have asked the director of rooms and general manager to check this and they will do so today.

Does anyone know what exactly this noise could be from? There was a similar noise at President Solitaire in the penthouse rooms, that the management said was from the air conditioner condenser on the roof.

Is it known what could be the cause of the noise here?

How can one explain this to management? Is anyone else staying here, especially on the top floors from 40 up, and can hear this same noise? It only started last month, and hope it is fixed soon. Otherwise it has been a good place to stay. But hope that this can be fixed so that it is quiet again.

Actually had the duty manager check and he said he could feel it too, very faintly. But if have on earplugs so that there is no other noise, can feel it quite strongly. It is very faint noise/vibration in the daytime, but it louder or compounded at night after about 10pm or so. It has been going on only in Jan and February, but was fine and quiet last year.

The manager offered to change rooms, but have felt it on every floor, from 26 up to top floor.

Maybe it is from the Emporium Tower infrastructure or cooling system there. They said will check with the managers of the building there.

Does anyone else stay here or know about this, either mechanical engineers or people familiar with building infrastructure, or people who are staying here now?
