Yes i can help you:

1) Find a company where you would like to work.

2) Send your application and CV.

3) Wait.

4) Wait little bit more.

5) Wait

6)Call them

7) Wait again

8) Call them again

() If nothing happening start with (1) again.

About moving to Thailand, very difficult so read it at least two time and discuss with your best friends before move on.

1) Buy a suitcase

2) Fill up your suitcase

3) Take bus, train , boat , car, bike or airplane.

4) Important is that they heading to Thailand or at least that direction.

5) The moment you need to show your passport and they say (Sawadee krup) that is a good sign you are almost there.

Good luck my friend hopefully this are the answer on all your questions.

About moving:

point 3) if coming from Europe, this should be considered carefully, bus or bike might has the advantage to give time to consider the next step. While for British I would recommend the boat to pass that big river to France first.

If OP did same investigation and is coming from the Big island he know already that the best option would be a hovecarft.

Oceanus,

My best advice, considering you don’t want to go for a job as a ridiculously underpaid job as an english teacher, is to get hold of an agent (often referred to as a pimp) operating in this region. Management experience will certainly help if you’re looking for a position that offers a decent salary and some benefits. I know at least a couple of pimps, they’re always looking for skilled people at management level. Having said so, the opportunities are getting scarce and the packages are less tempting.

Doing it all by yourself will be difficult. As always, connections are useful and being in the region is crucial. I understand you have neither, so you need to find yourself a pimp.

Good Luck

Sorry friend this question gets asked a million times a week

Everyone loves Thailand and wants to move here

The reality of the situation is not many make it

The economy is down, tourism is down, unemployment for Thais at all times highs

No jobs

That is the reality of it

However, I can say anything in life, including moving to Thailand comes down to how bad you want it

There are some pretty creative folks that have found ways to make it work

If you have to be here asking, you are not that creative to make it

Being creative is good being informed also :D I ask the question because in no matter how many posts at least one will give me useful idea or information If someone asks me about advice regarding Europe or China i will be more than happy to help him because i am experienced there and know how things work :D

If i was you i didn't go to LOS to find a job, doesnt work for well paid jobs just knocking on doors and asking for work.

I would try international company's from home to find a job in LOS.

Get intervieuws all organized within 2 weeks, go to Los have your intervieuws and a holiday, if didn't got any job, GO BACK HOME :)

Hi Oceanus,

I never held a job in LOS, so I cannot comment on job hunting. But you better start flat hunting, and be it as a form of dry swimming.

Where would you like to work and live? In BKK or the outskirts?

We ended up in Nonthaburi, near the wife's place of work. A furnished studio starts at ~ 6,000 Baht and there are shops and a gym with a nice pool. You get something to eat wherever you go - but you know that already, I'm sure.

A guy I know settled down as an engineer, accepting the Thai level salary. He's German. One big Q would be whether you would follow his lead?

Good luck and go for it!

Chris
