Getting A Work Permit On An Ed Visa?

Featured Replies

Sry if there is already info on this, but im struggling to find out whats my best option

I have an Ed visa, but have recently been discussing a business idea with a long term friend. If we decide to go ahead and start something up, it is likely not for 2 months or so down the line. She already has a work permit (for something else) and is also married to a Thai. We were wondering if its possible for me to get some kind of work permit on my Ed visa rather than me having to go through the whole process of getting an Imm B visa. Just until my Ed visa runs out in about a year from now. We were thinking to go down the route of her husband being the sole proprietor and my being employed by him. But, we are not sure yet of the various options, so need to look into it.

But, basically, in a couple of months from now, can i get some kind of work permit, or do i have to through the whole process all over again?

Thanks so much.

As far as I am aware, you cant get a WP on an Ed visa....so back to square one I am afraid...Non-imm B or O

Any form of working requires a WP, and issue requires you to hold a Non-Immigrant visa that supports working. As said, Non-B or Non-O visa is required.
