My friend has arrived in Thailand with a double entry 60 day tourist visa. He has been here for around 30 days is is planning to tour SE Asia for the next 6 mths coming in and out of Thailand. He is not sure of all his travel plans as yet. As a UK passport holder when he has used up his current visa which type of visa would you recomend.

They haven't invented the Traveller Visa here yet, so the lowly Tourist Visa is the best they can offer.

That depends how long he wil stay each time in Thailand and how he enters Thailand. Without a visa he will get a permission to stay for 15 days at a land border, 30 days when he arrives at an airport. If that is not enough he can get a new (double) tourist visa in Vientianne.
