Would I be required to pay any sort of duty or import fee if I send by UPS or Fedex? Retails in US for about $500 but cost considerably more in thailand

Yes, Customs duty and VAT will be applied on not only on the product but also the cost of the shipping. Also, you must be sure what you are buying will operate on 220 volt, 50 cycle.

The US BOSE products are 110 VAC, 60 cycle. You can't even special order a 220 volt in the States. Been there; done that!

Go and buy it in Singapore. Cheaper.

Can't you just use a step-down transformer for voltage conversion? And the 60 Hz part vs 50 Hz part isn't going to matter unless there's something in the unit that uses a synchronous motor (unlikely).

FM radio channels are differently spaced depending on where you live.

FM radio uses about 250 kHz wide channels. Channel spacing is 100 kHz in most parts of the world and 200 kHz in USA and some other countries.

I am not sure how Bose will handle this.

I've used a step down for 5 years here with mine with no problems at all.
