Hi,

I have a Dreambox 500-S connected to True Visions Sat TV, using a genuine smart card.

I've installed the latest PLi image (PLi Jade 3 20090627) on to the Dreambox.

But some of the channels are missing.

93 BBC BBC World News Not listed on Dreambox

82 MA Majung Not listed on Dreambox

85 MTV MTV Not listed on Dreambox

92 PHOX PhoenixInfoNews Not listed onDreambox

83 LTNG TChannel Not listed on Dreambox

81 TMUS TrueMusic Not listed on Dreambox

91 CNN CNNInternational Listed on Dreambox but does not play

97 NHK NHK Listed on Dreambox but does not play

I'm not sure what to do to get them to appear, I suspect its related to the transponder scan not picking them up for some reason?

The satellite is ThaiCom 5 KU Band. My LNB settings are:

LOF/L: 11300

LOF/H: 11300

Threshold 12000

I've tried selecting the option to increase the voltage but this made no difference.

If I go in to the manual transponder scan the Frequency = 12655 Mhz Polarity = horizontal Symbol rate = 30000. SNR = 92% AGC = 86% BER = 0 Lock and Sync are selected.

Does anyone else using True Visions with a Dreambox know how I might be able to pick up these missing channels?

Also the other problem I have is the picture is a bit jittery. Was watching a football match last night and it was a bit jumpy and not smooth.

I would recommend you use the program "DreamBoxEdit" and download all the settings and channels first. Save it. Just in case...

Then delete all the channels on your Dreambox by uploading and empty set of settings from DreamBoxEdit. (Don't worry, the satellite settings are not affected by this)

Then, when your Dreambox is empty, do a new automatic channel search. When this done, download them to your DreamBoxEdit program and create all the bouquets and Radios you like, save them and upload to your Dreambox.

BTW, I also have a jittery image, don't know why.

These channels are on 12604 H - SR 30000 - FEC 2/3

Go to the satfinder and select 12604H. The SNR should be above 80%

If you can't get a lock on this transponder, check if the dish is properly aligned.

91 CNN CNNInternational Listed on Dreambox but does not play

97 NHK NHK Listed on Dreambox but does not play

Make sure that you select these channels from True. There's other providers on the same satellite that provide these channels (in this case on frequency 12355 V. They won't decrypt with a truevisions smartcard.

I've not used the DreamBoxEdit program, I have however already setup channels and added them in to bouquets via the on-screen menus. I will have a look at this program. So do you pick up all the channels OK on your Dreambox?

thank you for the reply, I went to Sat finder and selected the 12604 H transponder. I am only getting 39% SNR, AGC = 0%, BER says 65520

In the DreamBoxEdit program which I'm not familiar with, I was able to download information from the Dreambox via FTP.

Looking at the CNN and NHK channels these are the settings, there are two entries for NHK for some reason.

I'm not sure how to correct these to ensure they are coming from True?

I think it is the dish, I've just plugged back in the original DSTV STB and I am not getting the missing channels on that either. I'll have someone go up and re-align the dish I think first before trying anything more as it looks like it's moved.

Which Dreambox image are you using? My dreambox came with a PLi image so I just updated it to the latest version PLi Jade 3 20090627

HNK is available on 12657 H (TrueVisions) and 12355 V (which won't decode with a TrueVisions smartcard)

CNN is available on 12604 H (TrueVisions) and 12355 V (which won't decode with a TrueVisions smartcard)

If you get 38% SNR, then there is something wrong. When the SNR hovers around 60% it means the LNB is working ok, but not picking up any signal.

It might be the LNB. Set the threshold to 11700 and see if it makes a difference.
