1 Day Late For Ed Visa Extension

Featured Replies

I'm on a student visa (non-immigrant ED Visa) and which needs an extension monday 1st of march. I'm ready with papers and all.

Only problem is that from what I understand monday will count as a public holiday and offices might be closed.

So does anyone know how this will be dealt with if I show up one day after my visa expires?

Or could I be lucky enough that the immigration office is actually open on monday?

Thanks, Peter

They are closed on Monday, so you will have to go Tuesday. Technically you are late and they can deport you, but normally they are very considerate. In all likelyhood you will be fine and will not have a problem, all though they might fine you 500 baht for 1 day overstay. Don't worry.

Monday is a holiday - as such business normally due that day will be due the next. You should not have any problem (except perhaps a crowd).

Thanks for your answers, I will go on Tuesday and hope for the best :)

Just thought I'd follow up on this and report that it went just fine. They didn't even mention it, guess they have understanding since it was a puplic holiday thing.

Thanks
