Travelling The Islands In The South

Featured Replies

Hi,

I live here in Chiang Mai and starting next week I will be spending a week at my favorite place in Phuket.

After leaving Phuket I want to go to Krabi then Samui.

I want to know to know the best and easiest way to go to Krabi from Phuket and I also want to know what area I should stay in Krabi. (I want a quiet area that have accomadations available for no more than 1,200 per night). It does not have to be near the beach.

I also need to know the best and easiest way to go from Krabi to Samui.

Thank you kindly

You could always do the seaplane trip from Phuket to Krabi, although probably a bit steep. Boats go from Phuket to Krabi from Chalong pier in southeast Phuket. How about staying on Rai Leh beach in Krabi... a lot more laid-back than burgeoning Ao Nang:

Recommend to see this place if you have the time and inclination:

For Samui, how about flying direct from Krabi Airport to save mucking with buses and ferries. :)

Boat to Krabi.  Buses should get you to Samui.

I spent a few days in Krabi.  It is OK because it has many trips - a lot of which also go from Phuket... Otherwise, I'm not a fan of Krabi.  Next time, I will stay one town over at Ao Nang or somewhere else...

Anyway, I looked at about 5-6 hotels in Krabi.  Many that have decent looking lobby have low quality rooms.  I ended up staying at The Green Hotel (other side of main street that goes into the city.)  That was the best I could find and it is in your price range...
