I need a cheap laptop with one usb port to store grades on. I do not need internet or any other extras. Where can I go to find such laptops?

Get a cheap phone / PDA for around 3000 baht and use that. get a 4GB micro SD card and away you go

Why not do the grades at school and store them on a memory stick?

I go Zeer Rangsit allot and there is tons of PC there used

"Cheap" is a very relative term. What is the maximum price you are looking at? This would narrow the choices considerably.

One could say that a Thinkpad x200si at 27,700 baht is "cheap" compared to what you get in return.

One could also say that a 7,900 second hand Celeron 1.2 Ghz based Laptop is "expensive" for the very same reason.

One could say a Netbook is cheap or expensive depending on several factors.

Not necessarily. Some older models don't work at all if the battery is not attached.

Those old notebooks are not really cool. You can and will find a cheap notebook at many places in Bangkok. Don’t buy an old IBM without a battery, it’s worth a shit.

Ive owned quite a lot of ibm laptops & still think an old 600e has its uses, Has a great keyboard ideal for word processing & you can easily add a pcmcia wifi card for some basic browsing if needed. used one myself with win 2k last year. 1500 baht seems fair. Very sturdy machine, batterys are weak & pretty hard to find a working one anyway. Fine to run off the mains
