hi,

i have a peugeot wich most thai mechanics can't fix,

i need somebody to recomend a mechanic tha's good with european cars,

also one that does'nt rip off farangs and likes to do the job properly and

can order copy parts

english speaking a plus but not nesessery,

obviously the peugeot centre could do it buy ay 4 times thr price,

any recomendations wellcome,

J&N Auto Service, Chiang Mai-Lamphun Road, Nong Hoi, 053-801-416, 081-8852893. Both Jimmy and his wife speak English fluently. They are good people and Jimmy and his guys work on all European cars. They are not cheap however! But, you get what you pay for.

J & N is good but very busy now and (in my view) under-staffed. Their big advantages are that 'Jimmy', the Thai owner has fluent English (ran a sports car garage in Las Vegas for many years) and he is up to date with computor controlled fuel injection, the lot. He does everything except bodywork.

At lower cost (sometimes MUCH lower), we are lucky to have Daychar Garage, not far from the rail station. Khun Daychar has no English and will not touch any vehicle with a computor or injection. But he is an ace with twin carbs, twin cams etc etc and was ALFA Romeo qualified in Bkk in the 70's.

No connection other than being a very satisfied customer of many years standing.
