gotlost
Mun toh puek (มันต่อเผือก) or purple sweet potato is a variety of the, well, sweet potato in Thailand. Mun is the Thai word for potatoes

Khun Ngo
Thank you gotlost, this is it. There may be different kinds of sweet potatoes, as the sweet potatoes that I had before where different looking and tasting. Most southerners call them "Kee noo", and I had no luck with dictionaries and google... Kha-Nom ist not the word for sweet potato but for dessert or maybe snack. But there is a "Kha-Nom Kee Noo", maybe this dessert contains sweet potatoes... Edited March 17, 2010 by Khun Ngo
