Maybe someone can help me figure this problem out.

I have an Acer notebook with Win7 installed. Everything is great, except I get an occasional BCCode 124 (Blue Screen).

I've been to many websites trying to find a solution to this, and it appears that it is a driver. All the drivers I have are updated from the Acer website.

Some people have suggested looking at the mini-dump, but I have no idea how to open that and even if I could, I wouldn't know where to begin reading that.

Does anyone here know about the BCCode 124 error or where to begin in finding the driver that is causing the error (providing that's what it is).

Thanks.

Why don't you contact Acer support? They should be aware of the problem and if not would be the best people to help.

I suspect it it hal.dll which cause this error. Its a serous one.

Some culprit in your hardware - there are many.

The best advise and recommendation is to visit Acer and have that checked.

the drivers on the computer manufacturer are never up2date, visit the websit of the device/Chipset maker to get the latest drivers.

Thanks for the replies and advice.

I contacted Acer and the their recommendation was to reinstall the drivers. Everything was reinstalled and I'll have to wait and see. So far, no problems. Then again, this has been an intermittent problem.

Thanks Webfact for the info about the hal.dll. I will certainly keep that in mind if it continues to do this.
