Uk Car Rental

I want to hire a car in the UK when I visit for a holiday.

Obviously they will want to see my driving license.

this is not a problem , but it has my old UK address on it.

I still actually own that particular property, but will they accept it as my credit card may show my thai address when I pay for it.?

What do others do when they need to rent in the UK?

enterprise car rental [at manchester airport] only looked at my drivers licence [very old out of date address] and passport I could have paid in cash but I used a uk debit card rather than my thai credit card; they also offered the cheapest prices

I used my old UK driving licence but put my Thai address on the form as I used my Thai credit card when renting from Hertz last year, that didn't cause a problem until I returned the car when the price was changed to reflect the Thai rate, an increase of about 40%.

As I had reserved the car online and had a print out of the quoted price I stuck to my guns and insisted they honour the quotation. They did so but it involved the manager making a manual adjustment. Worth watching out for, especially if time is of the essence.

pay with credit card and it doesnt matter what address is on your card , i am in same boat as you and recently rented from avis in leeds airport , good luck

I give the address which is on my UK license, though my credit card is registered to my overseas address.

My last rental was through carehire3000.com who were the cheapest by far.
