Non Immigrant B Where To Get In Asia ?

Recommended Posts

Hello to all ,

Just wondering if you can help . I will be moving to Thailand end of 2005 from the UK to try my luck with business / investment / jobs etc . I will first arrive on a 1 year multi entry non-immigrant O type visa from Hull in the UK . Now assuming I can find employment in Thailand in this first year , can I continue to use my O visa until it expires at the end of the year ? And more importantly , when it comes to renewing at the end of the year , if I still hold a work permit , can I apply for a new multi entry non-immigrant B visa inside Thailand , or neighbouring countries ? Or must I travel all the way back to the UK for this ? ( Or Oz )

Thanking all.

If you find a decent job you do not have to have a visa and can extend your present stay with yearly visits to immigration and payment of 1,900 baht for TM.7 application. If your job does not meet requirements for this you would have to continue using visas.

You can not apply for a multi entry visa inside Thailand. If all above board you could probably get in Penang, although conditions do change so what can be done today may not be done later (and vice-versa).

Thanks , so you mean I could apply for an O or B 1 year multi in Penang ? Even if the job does not meet the requirements and if I am not married to a Thai ?

And if not , must I return to the UK for it ? Awful long way to go just for a visa !

Thanks again .

If you have a work permit you can apply for a new visa - but not all jobs that have work permits qualify for extension of stay inside Thailand (there is an income requirement by passport country that is sometimes hard to meet).
