True Visions, What Is "a La Carte" Package?

Featured Replies

It's in their brochure, but doesn't give any idea in English what it means. If anyone knows, please advise. thanks!

Hi, I use True Visions at home.

I believe most subscribers who want to hire cable TV from True would just pick some package like Silver, Gold, etc. which give you a predetermined mix of channels. There are a bunch of news channels, movie channels, documentary channels, etc. in each package.

If you're very much into movies for example, you might get the extra movie channels package as an add-on. It's when you purchase these add-ons that they call it "a la carte".

i guess my question really is what do you get for the "a la carte" 499 baht, or 299 baht. their brochure doesn't give a clue.

TrueVisions has standard packages called Silver, Gold, and Platinum. They also have add on "a la carte" packages such as three additional HBO channels for 220 baht per month or 4 addtional Discovery channels for 220 baht per month.

Go to http://www.truevisionstv.com/package.aspx?id=37

It will tell you what is in that package (freebie) and also what is in the rest of True's offerings.

Their web site is very well constructed and organized.

It's worth a look.

Don't know about "a la carte" but I would really like to know whether True Vision [aka UBC], or any of the cable stations, are going to be able and will broadcast the World Cup, EPL & FA Football, Cricket & Rugby after 31st may or whenever DSTV in South Africa changes their sattelite transmissions footprint which I understand will not include Thailand.

:)

Does anybody know? Has True Vision made a statement?

There is going to be some angry & disappointed people here if "our" sports can not be viewed and I forsee many canellations of their subscriptions.

Re the World Cup, it will, as always, be shown on terrestrial TV and not on True Visions. It's always been this way. The only difference is before terrestrial TV broadcast with dual soundtrack, meaning it was possible to listen to English commentary. The last World Cup this was not the case. This year i fear it will be the same, judging by terrestrial TVs coverage of the Champion's League.

Thanks maaaate - I think!!

Can you please explain "Terrestrial TV Broadcast".

Where/How will I and others be able to view it in Thailand?

Local Thai TV mate. Usually it's channel 3 and channel 7 that show sports events. So you can view it anywhere and on any TV. That's the idea of it and why satellite TV don't have exclusive rights - cos big sporting events should be available for all.
