is this person still alive he didnt report back on his detox? maybe he didnt finish it and left ha

Thanks for your concern I am still alive, but after over a week of not eating anything but a weak broth and undergoing a major detox the last thing I want to do is write about it.

In a few days I will give all interested a complete run down of my detox program

Well done! How many days are you on? Have you gone over 7? When do you eat again? I'd definitely recommend guys breakfast, or just some fresh mango/pappaya for your first meal. It will taste Amazing!

You didn't have to write that you was on a Budget when you're wondering if under $3 USD per Day for a Motorbike Rental is a fair deal or not.. :)

Is Colonics when you stick a tube up your harris then ??

yes, and completely useless, but it does feel good so i am told,it does nothing, zero, its all hype

unless one combines good eating habits, exercise, etc, colonic now and again are completely useless

no news from the op maybe he has fasted himself away to nothing :)

After reading the topic title I thought it was about the drainage in Chaweng. Not too far off though!

Good luck to the OP.

Is it me, or does the stink of sewerage seem to be getting worse down Chaweng Beach Road??? :)

I'm going through forced de tox at the moment, due to pnuemonia. No cigarettes or booze and only soup every day. Still feel like s**t!!! :)

SC. Hope you're feeling better soon. I was ill a few months ago with flu, in bed for a week, couldn't eat or anything, a forced detox. It came along at the right time. It's amazing when you actually start to get better you realise how great it is when you're not ill...

Okay here is a bit of feedback that I promised.

I have lost just under 15lbs in 10 days which I put down to perhaps losing mostly water and not entirely fat. I know that there is no way I could lose that much fat in so little time. My face and waste is slimmer though, so no complaints there.

I am now just eating the raw food and will progress to cooked food mid week. The food here is GREAT if you want to eat healthy. I have lost my cravings for burgers, but how long that will last I dont know. I am determined to stay on the straight and narrow. Although I was almost tempted to walk into Mama's Burgers across the road from the Spa, just to smell a burger - sad I know.

I do feel a million bucks. As for your comment that colonics is 'completely useless'. I dont know if I agree with that, but I 100% agree with you that you need to combine good eating habits, exercise etc. I dont think any detox program would work if you weren't prepared to do the hard yards. I have met many people here that think that colonics alone is the be all and end all of perfect health - not true.

I have been walking at least two lengths of Lamai beach every day, 2 whole lengths early morn, and late afternoon.

The massages at the Spa are great, have had one every other day, a bit too pricey however, but you get what you pay for I guess. Haven't done any yoga due to my knee, just average pace beach walking.

The herbal steam room is awesome, although I haven't smelt any herbs in there. Best part of the end of the day was having a steam - highly recommend.

There is also a nice German or Austrian man at the Spa named SanBo who does a Chinese tea party where all the fasters can chat about their experiences. Totally free and just donation. Highly recommend, great fun and relaxing.

I saw many people trying the the foot detox, a lot of brown gunk coming out, apparently "toxins". Not so sure, apparently it is just the salty water oxidizing when an electric current is passed through it. Each to their own I guess, if it works for you, it works for you.

Overall I have thoroughly enjoyed the experience

Great to hear you enjoyed the experience and lost so much weight, that is good now you just have to stay on the straight and narrow no bad foods

Sorry to break this to you but the foot detox is known as the "aqua detox" and it is a well known SCAM! - just Google aqua detox scam

I am surprised they allow this here but this is Thailand and scams are all over the place don't fall for this!!...

> This treatment purports to detoxify your body via a foot bath. The

> scam vendors advertised these devices as aqua chi machine, bio

> electrical biofeedback machine, foot spa, energy spa, super detox foot

> bath . They also advertise the scam as a service such as bio-detox,

> aqua detox, aqua spa, emerald detox, platinum detox. The machines can

> run upwards of US$2500. The treatments can cost upwards of US$75.

>

> In essence, the foot bath contains a low voltage/amperage AC to DC

> transformer attached to ferrous electrodes.

>

> The process is basically electrolysis of water, a typical high school

> experiment, with a twist.

>

> The brown "toxins" you see is from the rust generated by the corrosion

> of the iron electrodes. The different variations in color can be

> accounted by varying amount of salt added to the water and variations

> in the compositions of the electrodes.

>

> Hydrogen and chlorine gas is given off in this process. The oxygen

> atoms from the water combine in the liquid with the salt(added to

> water to improve conductivity) to form hydroxyl ions. The chlorine gas

> is from the chloride in the salt. The oxygen in the hydroxyl ions stay

> in the solution.

>

> Given that chlorine gas is poisonous, this process can be potentially

> be dangerous to your health. And the explosive hazard posed by the

> hydrogen is another minus.

>

> So next time someone shows you this "miraculous" treatment, run the

> other way.

>

> For those interested in the proving the fraudulent nature of the scams

> for yourselves, you can do the following:

>

> You need a direct current source, some copper electrical cables, some

> steel wool, a plastic container, and some salt.

>

> For DC current source you can use the brick transformer from a walkman

> or portable electric device. Read the label on the brick to make sure

> it is DC output. The higher the amperage and voltage output the

> faster the results. I had good results with 1000mA and 5V. Make sure

> the voltage output is less than 30V.

>

> For electrodes, use dish washing steel wool. There is a lot of surface

> area and it rusts easily. Make sure the steel wool is not made from

> stainless steel or galvanized to prevent rusting.

>

> Roll some steel wool into the approximate shape of a pencil. Make

> two. These are the electrodes.

>

> You can either cut off the output plug from the transformer (the easy

> way) or strip the ends off some copper wires and attach them to the

> output plug of the transformer.

>

> Strip off the other end of the wires (from the previous step) and

> attach to the electrodes. Wrap the wire around the top of the

> electrodes.

>

> Fill your container half way up with water and add salt. Because

> water is not a good conductor of electricity, you need the salt to

> make it conductive. The saltier the better.

>

> Put the electrodes in the water. Make sure the wires coming from the

> transformer is not in the water. They can corrode and stop the

> effect. Also make sure the electrodes don't touch.

>

> Plug in the transformer and wait about half hour. Do the experiment

> in a well ventilated area. The gases generated are chlorine and

> hydrogen. Both can be dangerous.

>

> The water will turn brown from the rust.

Check out what happens to this carrot when it is put in the Aqua Detox:

Hehe, that was a great clip, thanks. I thought as much - just from my senior high science experiments.

Might bring that to the attention of the Spa. The so called practitioners operating their do so independently, and at a couple of thousand baht a pop that a lot of money for rusty water.

The American guy that runs the Spa is a apparently a really cool guy who spends most of his time up at his other resort in Chiang Mai, might let him know.

Unbelievable! That video was incredible to watch. When I was in Samui last year I went to the Spa many times, mainly for their food. I definitely rate it as one of the best on the Island for fresh healthy salads. The family that owns it are lovely people who do a lot for the local community. Twice a year the husband and wife owners throw a huge party for their birthdays, and invite everyone and anyone, and it is also a way for them to thank their staff for the great work they do.

As for the foot detox, I doubt that this is promoted in the Spa. I would definitely suggest that it is operated independently, and the Spa owner who now spends most of his time at his other spa in Chiang Mai must not be aware of it.

The Spa is a great place, I feel great. I am glad I didn't throw a 60 bucks down the drain though.

I have been researching this on the web all night and this proves it to me:

I will pass on my concerns to the owner when I return to the States.

guy knows about the aqua detox. he approves of it otherwise it would not be there.

this is the expensive model. not cheap Chinese shit.

I used it many times. it healed my liver pains. I live here and use this with for infra red....... awesome combination.

feet has over 4000 pores. ion exchange releases toxins through there. that's a proven fact.

many of the other health practitioners use the aqua detox themselves and are happy with it.

many Spa's are using it in their programs.

no one is forcing you to use it. just say no if you don't feel like.

here is a bit from the original aqua detox website. might explain about the difference between the ones you see tested and the original that is used in the Spa:

what absolute rubbish! what guy knows about aqua detox? the link you have just added is advertising propaganda from the company who make the machine. the proof is in the youtube videos posted above and the basic chemistry behind it.

maybe i shall take a carrot to the spa this week and we will see how many toxins come from it? i will film it and put it on this forum. i would be willing to pay for a session just to see what happens to a carrot. i am serious.

i take it there is a license required to use this machine that has "European Class IIa Medical approval" as stated in the link you posted? i would love to know how it is being advertised. snake oil, nothing but pure snake oil.

you say you live here and use this machine often and it cures your health problems? i'd love to see the proof.

this person says it all:

looks like the gauntlet has been thrown down id love to see a carrot in this detox like the video i would pay cash to watch this, do you think the spa would let me detox a carrot? or some other garden vegetable? what about a potato?

The owner of the Spa Resort, Guy and his wife are apparently really nice folks and I have emailed Guy with my concerns - he replied within a half hour. He is not on Samui at the moment, but has given me a favorable response (reply below).

Look people the Spa is a great place - I can only rave about it, I totally loved the experience, my only concern is the so called "healers" such as the foot spa person operating there, and not connected with the place at all. I fell they prey on peoples vulnerabilities:

Mick,

Thanks for that, glad you enjoyed. Sorry I'm not there at the moment but our CEO Jim is, I'll have him look you up.

To your good health
