Hope someone can help me, dont know where to start. I wish to bring my thai g/f out to Australia. She would be living with me as a tourist . She would be living with me for only 1 month.can she get a tourist visa in thailand to come to Australia. i will be paying her airfare and i will sponsor her while she is with me in Australia.Ive heard that she needs some type of savings in her bank account to show that she has funds to support herself in AustraliaJust wondering if it is very difficult for her to come to Australia as a tourist for only one month. I think i need to write a letter i think called a letter of invitation. I would appreciate any comments anyone could make please.

Looking forward to your comments

Thanks very much Dave

If you are providing a support letter, financial and everything while in Australia ,she will not need to show evidence of funds.

NB

Correct.

If you have known her for a reasonable period of time, a letter of support from you, will satisfy the adequate funds criteria. That is, DIAC will attach weight to an accompanying letter of support provided by you.

There are other issues that DIAC will take into consideration in determining whether your girlfriend is a 'genuine visitor' however, such as reasons that would encourage her to return to Thailand prior to her visa expiring. Things such as ongoing employment to return to, family ties in Thailand, land/property ownership. This list is not exhaustive.

First off, how long have you known her? you need to to have known her for at least 4 months (ideally at least 6 months) before applying, and you will need to prove that by showing letters, phone bills, photos etc..

She will need to show a reason to return....Children and sick parents are not reasons. property and/or a letter from a boss saying she has a job to go back to are good. However if you are sponsoring her and you will need to fill out the additional funds provider section of the application and address it in the covering letter then this may suffice. You dont need a return air ticket prior to applying.

She can get a 3 month single entry visa but can leave after a month if she so desires. There are longer visas that can be applied for.

You can go to the VFS centre in the CC towers building near Surasat BTS station to fill in and lodge the application, it takes about 5 working days to get a result.

Suggest you go here and read up a bit more about it.
