April 7, 201016 yr Just checking the rules re seasoning monies. I will be changing from Retirement to Marriage on what will be my first extension in Thailand Is it definitely only 2 months I have seen posts suggesting they sometimes say 3 months Having asked that I may well use rental income to make up some of the amount which I believe means the 2/3 month rule doesnt apply Cheers
April 7, 201016 yr It is 2 months for the first extension and depending where you are applying 2 or 3 months thereafter. You cannot combine with income. It has to be bank balance only. Go and have a chat with Immigration.
April 8, 201016 yr If you are on a retirement visa, I recommend you stay with that visa because it is a real hassle getting a marriage visa. They want too many documents and ask a lot of questions and they give you three months at first then you have to go back again to get the full year.
April 8, 201016 yr The Marriage extension is not that difficult. You are given 30 days under consideration stamp. Go back in a month and get the remainder.

I was retired then and they slipped me into a retirement visa without me looking. It was easier though. It was about 55 baht to the GBP then not like it is now but I have until August for the GBP to pick up again.
