It was a mistake to enter Parliament and they also said so but anyway no damage was done and they were only there 20 minutes.

To the Parliament yes, but they did the greatest damage to themselves in the eyes of the world: the reds are now seen as armed insurgents in the eyes of the world, and it's aligning the sympathy with the government.

With all their rousing speeches about gasoline bombs and burning things down, they can't be too surprised it came to this. Unless, of course, these people have yet to understand the concept of actions and words involving consequences.

Now --- we have Abhisit and Korn. Two very admirable men. What do the reds have to offer Thailand?

Jatuporn? Veera? Sae Daeng? Arisman? Weng?

Chavalit Yongchaiyudh

Are you really putting up a Thai Chinese former general that led Thailand through the float of the Baht that helped make so many rich while sending many others to the poorhouse? (Figurative)

Do you think that one of the people behind the violence of Oct 7th would be acceptable to the people?

The proposed leader of Thaksin's Thai People's Army is your real choice?

Yeah ... he's the guy! He's easily better than Korn or Abhisit :)

Better than a Thai Chinese that ordered boats full of Rohingya refugees pulled into the open ocean without gas, food and water and left them to die.

Except Abhisit never did that.

Someone in the navy likely did, but not Abhisit

The yellow shirts were inside the government building for 8 months and wrecked absolutely everything - even took 2 international airports hostage for nearly 2 weeks. Yet they're still free and a court decision nowhere even near. The only court decision that's happening on April 20th is if they at all will be prosecuted. If they do, there will be another half-decade long trial.

And the red shirts? They were on the grounds of the government building for 20 minutes and didn't damage anything, yet the government issues arrest warrants right away.

See the double standards?

The eyes of the world are not on Thailand, especially on the Reds. If anyone thinks of armed insurgents, they probably think of the 4,000 dead in Southern Thailand in recent years, not about a few charming grandmothers blocking the entrance to Louis Vitton and Central World.

Abhisit said he would "investigate the matter". Where is the investigation report? Conveniently lost? Never happened?

Thailand's Human Rights Record under Abhisit is much much worse than under Thaksin, and one of the worst in Thailand's history. How does this "admirable" man, as some are calling him, fit in with one of the worst Human Rights records in Thai history? Double face?

Wiat?!?!?!?! All these protests were just a contest to see who can occupy government buildings the longest?

I feel cheated.

Thaksin killed 2,500 people in his drug war.

He banned every programme on TV that criticised him.

He threatened every newspaper that published critical articles with withdrawal of advertising, both from AIS and governmental ministries.

He sued anyone that criticised him for huge sums of money.

Apisit has just been on TV telling the public he's not going to launch any violent crackdown on the protestors at Rachaprasong but he will arrest the leaders that incite violence and close down the TV station that does the same.

why does every farang think the red shirts are brain dead and the yellow/elite are einstein. I am 33yr old chartered accoutant who quit the rat race from uk to learn about a foreign culture. I have taught at harrow (bkk) and stanford (hua-hin). I have also taught at provincial schools and village schools in phrae and udon thani. The thickest and most narrow minded have been at harrow/stanford. They are the brain dead ones because they don't give a sh*t, they are fed with a silver spoon and have a totally reprehensible western attitude!! They cant even speak english for f*cks sake and the fees are 1 million baht per year(harrow). The kids from the countryside/poor families are so artistic and full of endeavour its unbelievable. Their enthusiasm just needs harnessing and their full potential being realised!

Therefore my point is that the rich/poor divide needs to be reduced to enable the real thai children to flourish and release their inner spirit & talent; for they are so talented and so overlooked!

jc

You are a teacher and that is how you talk and type?

"don't give a sh*t"

"They cant even speak English for f*cks sake"

Pretty confident that is why they do not listen to you

You give farangs a bad name ...

You do give foreigners a bad name. Your story sounds fantastic, how many schools did you see? You came to learn about a foreign culture? You can’t even write the word accountant properly. But you give statements about Thais?

Not that you’re only using small letters, not mentioning your missing letters, or wrong written words. Most impressive is your message that they can’t even speak English!!!

You’re calling students from rural areas here autistic? Did they feed you with a silver spoon?

Hope you never make your way to our students…….. :)

It's StaMford, not StaNford! You don't even know the correct name of the institute you claimed you had taught. Good luck to the students there! You can't blame them for not being able to speak or write Eng properly.. it's you who taught them!

PAD also wasn't threatening to burn Bangkok to the ground.

They general stayed in one place and generally telegraphed their movements.

The reds are running around all of Bangkok as the mood strikes

to anywhere they have a bug up their asses about.

Over an above the 'That was the This is now.' aspect.

This is todays problem not settling the score for 2 years ago's problem.

Quote from Abhisit in NYT in 2005:

The opposition leader, Abhisit Vejjajiva, said the emergency decree, passed by the cabinet in mid-July, opened the way for state abuses of civil liberties in its wide discretion to detain suspects and censor media.

"Press censorship made possible by the laws is against the Constitution, which says clearly that it can only be invoked under the state of war. We are definitely not in the state of war," Abhisit, of the Democrat Party, said during a debate on the decree in Parliament.

-----

Again, double standards. Abhisit says one thing when someone else is in power, then does another when he has power.

So it's okay to occupy the government building if you "stay in one place"? So I can gather a group of people together and then take over government house for 8 months and I'll be fine as long as I stay at the same place? I surely won't be prosecuted, right? As otherwise that would be double standard.

Rainman- let's try again- yes or no: Are you saying Abihisit ordered the Rohinga towed out to sea?

I believe Abhisit was opening a shopping center in Lad Phrao that day, he couldn't possibly had time to do it. It's absurd to think that a boy like Abhisit ordered anything larger than a happy meal with a number 3 toy.

Don't forget hey took the engines off the boats first just to make sure they don't come back.

Who did it? based on membership logic has to be him in charge.

He is certainly responsible if you use the same standards that you use with Khun T. :)

Oh? I thought he was remarking about the Samak and Somchai administrations. As soon as it came up with Abhisit's administration that old pattern of behaviour ended.
