Oh.... can't believe I forgot The Deer Hunter..

totster  :o

Personally, I thought this wasn't half what people made it out to be.

"This, is this." - <deleted> are you going on about?

The first hour of the film dedicated to watching a few people on the blinding piss. Okay, adds to the shock when you see what they get exposed to in Vietnam, but still a complete time-waster.

...well, when you want to list the top ten turkeys then you start with BULLSEYE, staring Michael Caine, Roger Moore,  John Cleese, Patsy Kensit and directed by Michael Winner, which is on Cinemax right now! Pure crap.

Ahhh you beat me to it :D

Absolute load of <deleted> :o

Agreed - I saw Michael Caine and thought "Oh good, a Michael Caine film". I changed channels after 30 seconds - total rubbish!

Each to their own mate..... the reason I like it is because of the style it's done in, I like the whole 70's feel to it, a bit rough around the edges too. :D

Fair enough Totster...

Suppose it did explain why an American guy I know always used to yell out "MOW!" and pretend to slap someone whenever he heard a Thai saying the same word (obviously in a much different context)...

:o   Well look at post 56 on page 4  :D

The mention of Malcolm McDowell brings the film "If" to mind. Not that I ever understood it; although I was always partial to "Missa Luba".

Pity he let himself down in future films like "Royal Flash" (great book though) and "Caligula"

True he went a bit strange, I put it down to bad acid! :D

But in IF and O Lucky Man, well great movies, great acting and a great director in Lindsay Anderson.....also an outstanding soundtrack.

Rio Bravos was mentioned. John Wayne,Dean Martin,Ricky Nelson,Ward Bond, Angie Dickenson. Great movie. It was remade by John Carpenter as 'Assault on Precinct 13' and I believe that has been remade as well.
