bankruatsteve
Have concrete floor and posts (2 level) and want to do wood frame on the 2nd floor. Any suggestions for connecting the wood frame to the concrete? I've done this before in the states but only on patio. So, looking for solutions here in LOS that I can make sure local workers can adhere.
PattayaParent
There's an expanding foam that will do the trick if you put an architrave around the joint. Or you can do it the old fashioned way of drilling the concrete, putting in rawlplugs and screwing the frame into the plugs.
dazk
What sort of frame, is it being fixed to wall floor or ceiling
seedy
In North America - and probably Europe also - some of the new adhesive products are great. Will attach most anything to anything. Some will cure under water. Are they available in LOS ?? Sorry, don't know. A search of a larger size outlet - maybe Home Pro for example - should have a selection. Not cheap, but quick and painless. Bucko
Just get some 10 or 12 millimetre masonary anchors and a concrete drill bit the same size-- here in NZ they are called Dyna-Bolts---make sure that they are long enough to go through the timber and into the concrete at least 50mil. -----stand the frame up in place- and drill through the timber into the concrete--tap the bolt in -and tighten up with a wrench----about 1.2---1.5 meters apart --one tip---ALWAYS drill a bit deeper than the length of the bolt --say 10+ mil.--if you don't you will soon see why ----good luck Bucko Edited April 23, 2010 by Bucko
