Aircards And Speed ?

Featured Replies

Does it matter which air card I use regarding internet speed ?

If this is the case : I have a "PhoneOne" (AIS 3G) air card. Is this air card fast or slow working ?

The problem will be with the Network, not the AirCard. Are 3G services available in your intended location?

Yes, 3G services are available.

What kind of Network problem ?

Too many people using the 3G network at the same time. Same as for a ADSL internet connection, the more users online at any given time the less bandwidth available per user. 3G has a finite data speed to begin with.

if your 3G signal is weak it will slow down too, the better 3G modems allow an external antenna to be connected which makes a huge difference, but usually the ones provided by the phone company are the cheap ones that don't allow external connections.

Find the model number of your Aircard and check the specification. Some models can have the firmware upgraded to 7.2MBps from 3.6MBps. either way, your speed is more likely to be limited by the speed and strength of the Network signal than the capabilities of the modem.

Thanks for posting. I will be retiring to Chaiyaphum district soon. Any suggestions on air card? Also I have gotten conflicting info re: land lines from TOT/TRUE. I wonder what the facts are?

cheers
