Multi O And Retirement Extension

Featured Replies

When coverting a tourist visa to a non O for the purpose of extension based on retirement IN Thailand, can you get a Multi non O with the extension based on retirement...i live near the border and want to go to the cambodia markets often and the exit permit is a bit steep everytime i cross out....thanks

You can only obtain extensions of stay inside Thailand and they do not allow any travel. For that you require a re-entry permit (single 1,000 or multi 3,800 baht). They are valid only for the period of your current permitted to stay stamp.

Why do they need to convert your tourist visa to a non o, then after convert that to an extension based on retirement, why not go straight from your tourist visa onto an extension....money i presume...also the multi exit permit, i presume can be used as many times as you want, eg. if 90 day report req`d on say the 30th, +/- 7 days, go out for a day and get the re=entry stamp, will that kick start your next 90 day, eg.kill 2 birds with one stone, and does the kick start have to be done in the area where you are registered...thx

1. The first requirement of an extension of stay of a non immigrant entry is a non immigrant visa. Tourists visas do not fall under that category.

2. You could leave before the 90 days are up and start a new 90 day at day one on return. You should not stay longer than 90 days. The plus 7 days is a non fine if you make the report.
